About the Artist
Scott Moore grew up outside of Washington, D.C. His parents were both artists: his mother was a fashion illustrator and his father as exhibit designer. The family moved to coastal Maine in the 1960’s. After college he moved back to Washington, D.C., but returned to Maine in the early 1980’s where he has lived and painted ever since.
Moore has served as a consulting artist for Maine’s Percent for the Arts program and taught at the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland, Maine. He is an avid cross-country skier and canoeist, and lives in a nineteenth century farmhouse overlooking Penobscot Bay with his wife and daughter.
